چکیده

Salt stress in soils impacts grain crop yield. Soil amendment with biochar and arbuscular mycorrhizal alone has been analyzed to improve the growth of several crops under salinity stress. However, combined application fungi for remediation improvement productivity wheat are rarely discussed have remained unclear. Therefore, this experiment was performed investigate effect (150 g per each treated pot containing 3 kg soil) and/or (20 AMF inoculum 80% roots, 100–160 spores, extraradical hyphae pot) on (Triticum aestivum L.) four salt gradients; 0, 50, 100, 150 mM NaCl. The results show significantly reduced plant height (9.9% 22.9%), shoot fresh weight (35.6% 64.4%), enzymatic activities (34.1% 39.3%), photosynthetic pigments—i.e., total chlorophyll contents (75.0%) carotenoids (56.2%) plants—as compared control. Under exclusive application, plants were moderately tolerant stress, which evident their growth, fatty acid content, partially impaired activity, pigments, while relatively sensitive resulting rate, decreased unsaturated composition, pigments. Conversely, co-application AMF, increased (14.1%), biomass (75.7%), root (24.9%), activity (49.5%), unimpaired pigments (30.2% 54.8%) Current findings concluded that incorporation biochar, synergistic could be utilized as a promising way reduce deleterious effects production.

Potassium induced salinity tolerance in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Water culture experiments were conducted to study the response of ten wheat genotypes to external K application (10 mmol KCI dm3) at seedling stage under saline condition (0 and 100 mmol NaCl dm3). The data showed that there was an increase in the shoot and root length with the application of external K. The increase was more pronounced under control than under saline conditions. The better per...

Effect of biochar on nitrogen retention in soil under corn plant inoculated with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi

Maintaining the levels of nitrogen in agricultural fields to ensure crop yield performance is challenging due to the complex dynamics of nitrogen transformation in soil. Nitrogen is mainly taken up by plant roots in the form of nitrate, but it is considered as an environmental pollutant that threatens human and animal health. Therefore, it is necessary to use adsorbent compounds to retain nitra...

Arbuscular Mycorrhiza Augments Arsenic Tolerance in Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) by Strengthening Antioxidant Defense System and Thiol Metabolism

Arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM) can help plants to tolerate arsenic (As) toxicity. However, plant responses are found to vary with the host plant and the AM fungal species. The present study compares the efficacy of two AM fungi Rhizoglomus intraradices (M1) and Glomus etunicatum (M2) in amelioration of As stress in wheat (Triticum aestivum L. var. HD-2967). Mycorrhizal (M) and non-mycorrhizal (NM) ...

Effects of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi on Growth and Nutrient Uptake of Apple Rootstocks in Calcareous Soil

The effects of three Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) species (Glomus versiforme, Claroideoglomus etunicatum and Rhizophagus intraradices) were studied on the growth parameters and nutrient uptake of three apple rootstocks (M.9, M.7 and MM.106). The soil medium contained a high level of calcium carbonate (38.65%). The results showed that AMF inoculation could increase almost all growth parame...

Enhancing Tolerance to Salinity Stress in Poncirus trifoliata L. Using Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi

Citrus fruits are susceptible to salinity. In the present study, the reaction of trifoliate sour orange (Poncirus  trifoliata L.) to the salinity stress at the presence of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) was investigated. Forty-day-old seedlings were inoculated with three species of AMF in combinations including Glomus mosseae + Glomus intraradices, Glomus mosseae + Glomus hoi, Glomus intrar...
